ARVIS® CE Mark and First Surgery Outside the US

We’re very pleased to share two major milestones for ARVIS®, our proprietary wearable, self-contained augmented reality (AR) surgical guidance platform.
On May 21st, Dr. Justin Roe of Mater Hospital North Sydney, Australia, successfully performed the first procedure using the ARVIS® Augmented Reality System in combination with the BalanSys Knee System.
After the procedure, Dr. Roe commented: “Using ARVIS® for the first time was a great experience. Being able to bring the data back into the surgical field added to my clinical decision-making. I look forward to seeing the technology evolve to offer more intraoperative information to further the orthopaedic field.”
Just a few days later, towards the end of May, ARVIS® also received the CE Mark in accordance with EU MDR 2017/745 for both hip and knee applications.
The CE mark for the shoulder is expected soon.
To celebrate, we hosted our first International ARVIS® SkillsLABs in Verona, where leading knee surgeons shared insights, tested applications, and helped to shape the future of AR-guided surgery.
This achievement marks a significant step in making smart, wearable AR surgical guidance more accessible across Europe, and we’re excited for what’s ahead.
